Environmental Responsibility.
Ecoframes is currently working towards achieving certification for the Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2004. We believe that this quality standard will ensure that we continue to adopt best practice in our internal systems and comply with, if not exceed our customer’s expectations. We expect full certification during 2010.
The pressure to adopt environmentally friendly measures is becoming more intense, with the Government demanding that all partners in the building industry contribute to reducing the impact of development on CO2 emissions. Ecoframes’ timber frame environmental credentials and fast-track production techniques allow us to easily meet the challenges of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH).
Wood is a low carbon, sustainable resource and our policy of sourcing locally further reduces our Carbon Footprint.
Growing trees absorb Carbon Dioxide and release oxygen. Wood has low embodied energy and can be a carbon neutral building material this low embodied energy plus good insulation properties, help reduce CO2 emissions throught the life of the building.
Strength for strength, concrete uses 5 times and steel 6 times more energy to produce than wood. This low embodied energy, plus excellent insulation properties, helps reduce CO2 emissions throughout the life of a building.
There is no other more environmentally considerate way to build.
